My name is Michael van Lieshout. I’m an enthusiastic and creative individual preparing to move from New Zealand to Sydney to pursue a Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium.
I’m seeking a welcoming homestay environment with friendly people who have a good sense of humour and aren’t big partygoers. I am looking for a suitable place near the CBD to build connections while focusing on my studies and musical pursuits.
As a guest, I’m respectful and trustworthy. I prefer to spend my time practising guitar, playing squash, hanging out with friends, exploring the city or working towards my academic and personal goals.
This year, I had the honour of serving as Head Prefect at Tauranga Boys’ College, a role that taught me the value of leadership, responsibility, and teamwork—qualities I carry into everything I do. Since finishing high school in November, I’ve been working on an orchard and knuckling down on my passion for music, releasing my first single, ‘Soul Snatcher’ by ‘Bangers & Mash’, on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
