About Yvette

Hello,

My name is Yvette, and I am currently studying at the University of Sydney.

I have been living in Sydney for two years as an international student and expect to stay for at least another two years, possibly longer. After living on my own for quite some time, I have realised that I really miss the feeling of being part of a family. I often miss my parents and the warmth of home, so I am looking for a homestay where I can genuinely feel connected to the people I live with, rather than simply renting a room.

I would love to share meals occasionally, have conversations, and become part of daily family life. Daily breakfast and dinner are not necessary for me, but I would really enjoy having a family night sometimes, especially on Fridays or weekends, where we could eat together, chat, watch a movie, or simply spend time together.

I am also a dog lover. I have a dog back home in China, and I would be very happy to help with dog walking if you have a dog.

In terms of accommodation, I would prefer a private bedroom, a private bathroom, and ideally a reasonably spacious room with some storage space. Over the past two years in Sydney, I have accumulated quite a few belongings, and I even bought a rowing machine because I am a little intimidated by going to the gym — haha! A bathtub would be a lovely bonus, as I have collected far too many bath bombs. I would also strongly prefer a king-size bed, partly because it suits my sleeping habits and partly because I already own king-size bedding.

The cost of homestay is not my main concern. Finding a welcoming, clean, peaceful, and comfortable home environment is much more important to me. I would prefer to live in a non-smoking household, especially one where no one smokes marijuana.

Ideally, I would like to live somewhere reasonably close to the University of Sydney. A location near the City would be wonderful, especially around Martin Place or Barangaroo.

A little more about me: I enjoy playing musical instruments, watching TV shows, playing video games, and exploring Sydney, but most of my time is spent studying. I am clean, respectful, and considerate of others’ space and routines.

I am also very respectful of household rules. Although I sometimes spend evenings in the City with friends and may come home late, I understand the importance of being considerate when living with others. If there are expectations around quiet hours, routines, or coming home at a certain time, I would be happy to discuss and follow them. I may occasionally stay up late, but I am always quiet at night and careful not to disturb anyone.

Most importantly, I hope to find a home where everyone respects each other’s privacy while also enjoying occasional conversation, companionship, and a sense of belonging.

If possible, I would love to meet and chat before making any arrangements, so we can get to know each other and see whether we would be a good fit.

Kind regards,
Yvette
